From navigating your education provider’s learning portal, to support with accessing study resources, or managing your study load, the CUC team is here to help you.
Wellbeing support and personalised care
At CUC Eastern Tasmania we understand life is full of challenges and stressors that compete with your time and capacity for study. Sometimes your individual circumstances make it harder for you to study or you have some additional needs.
We want you to succeed and we are here to chat and help you find the support you need. We can help with referrals to university supports or other services that can help you manage your study workload alongside other demands.
Our Centre Manager is trained in mental health first aid and is committed to supporting your wellbeing.
Practical support and advice
We know that when you are starting out, or even if you are already deep into your studies, that university and training provider administrative processes can be daunting and frustrating, particularly when you are studying remotely.
We can help you navigate learning portals and connect you with the appropriate services at your institution to meet your individual needs. This may include access and inclusion requirements; applying for extensions or special considerations; or referral to progression teams, library services, and other student supports.
We can also assist you to find and apply for scholarships.
Study Resources
Are you new to higher education, returning after an extended period or needing guidance around assessment tasks? The Centre Manager can help you settle into study and become confident with academic and university or vocational education processes.
Study spaces
Do you need a quiet study space without interruptions and competing demands of home or work? In our modern, purpose-built facility, you’ll find:
- a dedicated quiet study room with computers and space to work on personal devices;
- dedicated spaces for seminars, tutorials, workshops, exams, and group work; and
- space for student collaboration and connection.
Since studying in the daytime isn’t always possible, our centre is open to registered students from 7:00 am to 12:00 midnight, seven days a week. The Centre will be staffed during business hours.
Technology
If your Wi-Fi has ever dropped out when a deadline is approaching, you’ll know that reliable, fast internet is essential for online study.
We provide free access to high-speed internet as well as computers, printing and copying equipment, and video conferencing facilities. You can also bring your own device and dock to our workstations with dual screens.
Exams
We can help take the stress out of sitting exams remotely. We provide professional exam invigilation services with supervision and exam rooms.
